Audience: Individuals who are interested in reading a true story about an individual working in the field of individuals with physical/developmental disabilities. Perhaps, the audience could be just trying to learn something new/valuable.
Purpose: In my capstone seminar, we were assigned to create a lengthy non-fiction narrative. Through the first half of the semester, we learned the techniques of engaging an audience through different non-fiction narrative techniques. Some of the techniques involved utilizing strategic story structure, forming attractive description, using powerful action-verbs, etc. I decided to write a piece on the life of my manager at the group home I work at (Phoenix Residence, Inc.). The story includes the fascinating life of a man working in an emotionally enlightening field for decades.
